Clare Chandler is undertaking a research project for SELLLN examining two areas: progression from Foundation Degrees on to honours degrees and the provision of vocational postgraduate programmes. The aim of the project is to provide SELLLN with a statistical analysis of the provision of programmes across its partner institutions and participation by learners from different backgrounds. It will also explore, using qualitative research methods, progression from Foundation Degrees to honours degrees as well as undergraduate to postgraduate study, looking at the perceptions and experience of potential and existing learners and teaching staff. The findings will provide baseline evidence for SELLLN to use in its work on developing progression routes for learners with vocational qualifications or those seeking to progress from work to learning.
