Information, Advice and Guidance

SELLLN is undertaking a variety of activities as part of its IAG focus. These include:

The provision of information in a variety of media about the range of learning opportunities available.

  • The development of specialist resources for each sector as new provision and new progression routes emerge.
  • Providing training to partners, where appropriate, in best practice for IAG and the embedding of relevant LLN developments into institutional practice.  This staff development takes place on a pan-London, network-wide or institutional basis. Additionally, IAG development project funding supports accredited CPD training for those who advise learners progressing to HE.
  • Underpinning the provision of IAG with an online system .
SELLLN has commissioned a report mapping the IAG services available in its partner institutions, and is addressing the recommendations resulting from this.

We have an IAG group that meets 6 times a year, and has members from our partner institutions, and other interested stakeholders such as Financial Services Skills Council, nextstep providers and Aspire (Aimhigher).
