Wednesday, June 3rd 2009 Peter Wilson (NIACE) returns to King’s College to follow up on last year’s seminar on the Qualifications and Credit Framework to address some of the key issues involved in implementing the QCF, and identify some of the major challenges that still need to be overcome. The difficulties involved in bringing general qualifications into the QCF will also be considered, and an overall assessment made of the potential of the new framework to deliver on its anticipated benefits. The seminar will be followed by a Q&A session. Jointly hosted by SELLLN and Linking London. Peter Wilson is Development Officer (Credits and Qualifications) at NIACE, where he has worked since 1996. From 2004 to 2008 he was seconded part-time to the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority where he was Principal Adviser to the team that developed the Qualifications and Credit Framework. Since October 2008 he has been on sabbatical from NIACE to write a book on the development of the QCF from its origins in UK credit systems. He will return to work at NIACE in February where he will lead an LSC-funded project on unit-based funding. He will also be advising Ofqual on the implementation of the regulatory arrangements for the QCF, which he helped to produce.
